The Director is the central management system that drives all the Content Smart Switches deployed within the telecom operator network. It aggregates all the administration and operation management. Concurrently it supports one central console per application deployed on each Content Smart Switch

The Director hosts a database to centralize all content / user profile provisioning / and network information plus all statistics gathered from each Content Smart Switch.
For the regulation and anti-piracy application, the director is connected to a Media Service Portal :
It is a secured web portal that gives visibility on content circulation, with measures and statistics. Contents can be classified into existing catalogues. It addresses content providers needs and covers 3 functions:
- Catalogues updates with contents to monitor and control. Content providers and copyright owners provide the references data base of their catalogues. This database depends from the number of works to protect, the period and duration for protection,
- New references classification: these new references are linked to current catalogs depending on copyright ownership.
- Traffic statistics are viewed in order to establish content audiences follow up.
