First win in APAC for policy control and tethering monetization.
Vedicis announces that a major APAC mobile operator has selected Vedicis Policy Control & Enforcement Solution for tethering monetization and congestion relief.
Vedicis Policy and Control Solution provides user bandwidth monitoring, clear identification of tethering usage to be compared on the fly with their subscription packages, and inline actions for control (either bandwidth limitation for users without relevant data packages or alerts sent to SMS systems to propose directly a package upgrade).

Vedicis announced the launch of its policy and charging enforcement solution for Mobile and fixed telecom operators. This software DPI – PCEF delivers policy control for user profile enforcement and real time charging to create usage-based service billing. As flat-rate pricing for data is no more sustainable because of traffic explosion, it is now mandatory for operators to create tiered services based upon real services valued by their subscribers (Facebook, Internet browsing, gaming…). Vedicis Content Policy & Charging Enforcer identifies user traffic type and applications, enforces usage policies (access to services, bandwidth limitations…) from the policy server and trigger real time charging from the charging solution (quota, top-up offer…).
